Is NEET-UG qualification mandatory for studying MBBS abroad?

Yes. As mandated by the National Medical Commission (NMC), any Indian citizen wishing to practice modern medicine in India after earning a foreign MBBS degree must have qualified the NEET-UG examination in the year of admission. The NEET scorecard remains valid for 3 years for foreign admissions.
What are the latest NMC Gazette regulations for foreign medical graduates?

Under the NMC Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations: (1) The course must be a minimum of 54 months of academic study; (2) An additional 12 months of mandatory clinical internship at the same institution; (3) The entire medium of instruction must be English; (4) The degree must grant a license to practice medicine in the awarding country. All DSMES partner universities strictly adhere to these regulations.
How are tuition fees paid? Does DSMES charge any hidden fees?

We follow a strict zero-hidden-fee guarantee. All official university tuition and hostel fees are payable directly by parents to the official university bank account via authorized RBI foreign remittance channels or upon arrival at the university accounting office against an official university seal receipt.
Are university hostels safe and is Indian food readily available?

Yes. All partner university dormitories provide 24/7 CCTV surveillance, electronic swipe-card entry, warden supervision, and separate floors/wings for female students. On-campus Indian messes operate year-round, preparing fresh North and South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food by experienced Indian cooks.
Can I practice medicine in India after graduating abroad?

Yes. Upon completing your 54 months of medical coursework and 12-month internship at an NMC-recognized university, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Exit Test (NExT) / FMGE licensing examination in India. Upon passing, you receive your permanent registration to practice or pursue postgraduate specialization (MD/MS) anywhere in India.
Can I appear for USMLE (USA) or PLAB (UK) with these degrees?

Yes. Because our partner medical colleges are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and recognized by the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) and FAIMER, graduates are fully eligible to take USMLE Steps 1 & 2 for residency in the United States or PLAB for NHS practice in the United Kingdom.
How soon should I start my application for the 2026 academic intake?

Because top government medical universities have limited international seats and foreign ministry clearances take 3 to 6 weeks, it is recommended to submit your 10th/12th marksheets and passport as soon as NEET scores are announced to secure priority hostel rooms and early visa processing.
